Hi everyone, I have been approved on 9/6/7.
only 92 days after AOS filing.
My sponsor, I did work with them from 2002-2007. They agree to file i-485 in the hopes economy would get better. However house builders are doing very bad now and they cannot take me back after approval.
The question is, does this spoiled my chances for citizenship?
I think you can get a letter from employer stating that they can not employ you any more. I am not sure if they issue a letter to every person that loses the job. Just make sure that your intention to work with the sponsering employer is documented somehow .
I have an idea here ... just write an email to your boss or HR stating "how good company has been to you and how they helped you with your immigration process and given a choice you would rather work with the same company"
Take a printout of all these emails and save them if you still have a chance. You can use all these to prove if you run into any problems during the naturalization process.
Apart from these things collect the news paper clips or company wide emails that talk about downsizing. These things should help you to prove your intentions if there is a query about your intentions at the time of naturalization.
If you think company will survive for 5 or 10 more years , just keep in touch with your HR

Is per country quota true even during last quarter? I thought it was not in July 2007 and going by previous years history, India EB3 has always been getting more than their alloted 8000 (or whatever) numbers!

same story for me, i just moved to different unit in the same apartment. everything remains the same. Same city, same zip code, same employer.. Somehow i believe address change triggered the RFE. Probably the change in the file pushed my file in FIFO and someone looked into it and gave a RFE. Will have to wait till i get the actual letter.
u r kidding right...u got EVL RFE for an apartment change in the same apt complex? or is it just asking you to update the address verification form. Cos, I just now responded to EVL RFE and am planning to change apt inside the same unit. I cannot afford another lump payment to the freakin lawyer one more time..this is just ridiculous..

So, is that a yes on getting USCIS to follow the law? As I said, it is about getting USCIS to follow the law, it is not EB2/EB3 centric. Given that the demand for Eb3/EB2 that is going to see-saw, this should be an action item that will benefit EB on a whole, not a particular sub category.
It is not only about USCIS to follow law my friend, it is about bringing about a new law to relieve us from huge backlog.
That I believe can be only possible with the recapture visa bill. And we all need to shoulder each other through this.

Nobody from IV has prevented people from other countries from speaking up. On the contrary, multinationalism is only encouraged to give a global face to this issue. But, I don't see anyone from outside India/China bolstering IV's efforts. Why don't they step up and join the core team?

just for comparison sakes...do remember that the distance from churchgate to virar (in bombay) is 35 km. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mumbai_Suburban_Railway.
That is equivalent of approx 22 miles. I doubt there is anybody is bombay that drives 35 km one way on a daily basis. But in the US living 10-20 miles from work is not bad. People in my office drive about 40 miles one way without blinking an eyelid. Some drive even more. Plus the cars that they have in india have smaller engines, smaller capacity thereby better gas mileage.
So for people who say gas is a non issue, think again.
not to mention public tranportation in Bombay compared to majority of US cities, barring handful like San Francisco, Chicago and New York.

That would be the way to go. I assume you will probably look at a career change or change the job responsibilities in the same field, which may be a factor for the prior GC going to the boondocks. If on the other hand, you intend to stay in the same field and similar job profile, then striking a deal with your employer (that you would come and join them after your MBA) would be a way to keep your current GC process going. A leave of absence in that case would be the way to go.
You will get jobs easily in Europe after an INSEAD MBA. Why bother about coming back to US, and getting in the GC queue again?

Funds are really needed but another important thing is to leverage the momentum obtained due to CIR and more recently July Visa fiasco.
I think iV should aggressively focus on recapture of visas, 1 visa per family(Hillary Clinton already supports us on this and we can rope in Zoe loe****
who supported us now) and also removing country based limit.
Momentum is very important and now is the time to restart and I m sure funds ll flow. Removing country based quota is the easiest one to target first.

All this would only help the child continue to stay in US with a Legal Status.. But he/she would still be a dependent(H-4) that means cannot do any part-time job & at the same time pay higher tuition fees.. whereas the DREAM Act proposes to give GC status to the children of illegal immigrants.. seems a tad too unfair for those who abide by the law!

I called USCIS regarding this issue. Representative mentioned that once u have GC, it is your choice if you want to change jobs. There is no rule stating that you have to stick to your employer who sponsered GC for any period of time. He also mentioned that changing job after getting GC does not affect citizenship application.
BTW, I got my GC on 08/08/08.

I think what is being conveyed is NOT that he is superior .... but that he has been in the US atleast 2 yrs more than when he actually started the journey towards GC by formally putting in an application

It seems like except for one or two people here, individuals who have applied directly at TSC on 2nd July are getting their checks cashed/receipts this week.
It would be helpful to know if they are done with the transfer of 2nd July cases from NSC to TSC; if so, when and based on that, we can make some educated estimates.

I know sir every one has right to choose whatever they want but info pass only gives you the answer which in online or when u call them its the same thing. and for your information i have filed my application on june 2nd and still not received anything...and it can cause my job....and when i tried to get info pass it does not allow me another city when i put my zip code and all the dates in the next month are taken..........
Did you try the walk-in option. Some offices have walk-in option and they do let you in without a Infopass appointment. And also since you think that your case is so serious , did you try to talk the security person explaining him the situation that you are not able to book an appointment for Infopass and let you in for walk-in appointment.
Local offices are usually accomodating if there is a genuine issue.
